Who uses this
- Retail shops sending customer orders to nearby Himachal towns
- Pharmacies, clinics and medical offices sending documents or non-perishable supplies
- Offices and service businesses sending files, contracts, samples or replacement parts
- Distributors and wholesalers moving small cartons between towns
- Retailers shifting stock from one branch, counter or supplier to another
The everyday gap
Most small business parcels are awkward. They are too urgent to wait casually, too small for freight, and too local for a national courier process to feel smooth. A shop may need to send one customer order from Kangra to Palampur. A clinic may need a file moved from Dharamshala to Mandi. A retailer may need two cartons from Solan to Shimla before the weekend rush.
In hill towns, the hard part is often not the distance. It is the coordination. The pickup point may be a shop inside a market lane. The receiver may describe the address using a temple, school, bus stand, turn, hotel or kirana shop. A missed call or unclear handoff can turn a simple parcel into a full-day follow-up task.
Patwadi is built for that middle layer: the movement that local businesses already need, but do not want to manage through guesswork. We confirm the route, pickup point, handoff point and receiver contact before the parcel moves.
What moves and what fits
| Parcel type | Patwadi fit |
|---|---|
| Customer orders | Good fit — clothing, small products, packed goods and shop items where packaging is secure |
| Documents, contracts, files | Good fit — useful for offices, clinics, institutes and service businesses |
| Stock transfers between branches | Good fit — confirm carton count, weight and timing first |
| Samples and replacement parts | Good fit — mention fragility or special handling needs before booking |
| Small cartons from supplier to shop | Good fit — confirm dimensions, pickup point and active route |
| Food, perishables, temperature-sensitive items | Usually not suitable — no cold-chain or temperature control available |
| Hazardous or prohibited items | Not accepted |
How it works
Send the pickup point, destination, receiver phone number, parcel type, item count, approximate weight and urgency on WhatsApp. If the address is hard to find, add the nearest landmark or the person who can receive the parcel locally.
Patwadi checks whether the route is active and confirms the realistic movement window before accepting the booking. Same-day movement may be possible on selected routes when the dispatch window is still open. Wider routes may move on a 1-day timeline depending on distance, road conditions, schedule and handoff availability.
For repeat business routes, the process gets simpler. If your shop regularly sends to the same towns, the pickup point, handoff preference and receiver patterns can be reused instead of explained from scratch every time.

Before booking
Share the sending business name, pickup point, destination business or receiver, item type, item count, approximate weight and urgency. If a GST invoice is required, mention it before booking. For unfamiliar addresses, include the nearest landmark, shop, school, temple, bus stop or main-road reference.
Patwadi confirms the route and expected timing before accepting the booking, so the sender and receiver know what is happening before the parcel leaves.
