Operator Onboarding

Patwadi Operator Onboarding Packet

Pilot phase  ·  Effective 14 June 2026  ·  Read before your first parcel

Welcome to the Patwadi pilot network. This packet covers everything you need before your first parcel: your role, your corridors, how custody works, what you cannot accept, how you get paid, and what to do when something goes wrong.

Read through each tab before you handle your first booking. The agreement you accepted in the app is the legal document — this packet is the operational guide.

Before your first parcel — checklist

  • Complete KYC on the Patwadi website
  • Wait for admin approval (you'll be notified by WhatsApp)
  • Accept the operator agreement in the app
  • Confirm your assigned corridors with ops
  • Read the Prohibited Items tab — know what to refuse
  • Save the ops WhatsApp number: +91 80918 89969
Who is this packet for?

This packet is for new Last-Mile Partners (LMPs) and Linehaul Conductors joining the Patwadi pilot network. It covers the operational rules you need to know. The full legal agreement is at operator-agreement.html — you accepted it in the app before activation.

What Patwadi does

Patwadi moves intercity parcels, luggage, and cargo across active regional corridors using a verified 4-step custody chain. Every parcel moves through up to four handoffs — each recorded in the app with a code and a photo. You are one part of that chain.

Customers book on WhatsApp. They pay Patwadi. Patwadi coordinates pickup, transit, and delivery through you and other operators. You receive weekly settlement for completed legs.

Your status on the network

You are an independent contractor — not a Patwadi employee. You use your own vehicle or corridor capacity. You are responsible for safe transport and for any accidents or third-party claims during your work. Patwadi does not control your schedule, route, or vehicle choice.

Patwadi moves parcels through a 4-step custody chain. You join as one of two roles. Your assigned role is confirmed at KYC approval.

Role A
Last-Mile Partner (LMP)
  • Collect from sender at origin
  • Hand off to linehaul conductor
  • Receive from linehaul at destination
  • Deliver to recipient or hold up to 7 days
  • Record every handoff in the app
Role B
Linehaul Conductor
  • Accept parcel from origin LMP at boarding
  • Transport on your assigned corridor
  • Hand off to destination LMP on arrival
  • Record every handoff in the app
  • Never transfer to unverified persons
What "independent contractor" means in practice

You use your own capacity — your vehicle, your bus seat, your schedule. Patwadi assigns you parcel jobs on corridors you've accepted, but you are not on Patwadi's payroll and Patwadi does not control how you travel. You handle your own tax filings. You are responsible for third-party claims arising from your transport activities.

App access and account security

Your Patwadi account is personal and non-transferable. Do not share your login credentials or handoff codes with anyone. Custody actions performed under your account are attributed to you regardless of who physically performed them. Account sharing is grounds for immediate termination.

You may handle parcels only on corridors Patwadi explicitly assigns to you. Operating on an unassigned corridor is outside the scope of your agreement.

How corridor assignment works

Your assigned corridors are recorded in the Patwadi system under your operator profile. You will only receive parcel assignments on corridors in your approved list. To add, change, or remove a corridor, contact Patwadi admin via WhatsApp. Changes take effect after admin approval — not upon request.

If you are unsure whether a parcel is on your corridor, check the app assignment or WhatsApp ops before accepting custody.

Pilot focus corridors

The pilot is active on the following corridors. Your specific assignment may be a subset of these:

  • Chandigarh ↔ Shimla
  • Chandigarh ↔ Mandi
  • Chandigarh ↔ Manali
  • Chandigarh ↔ Dharamshala / Kangra
  • Mandi ↔ Kullu / Manali
  • Manali ↔ Keylong / Jispa (route-confirmed, seasonal)
  • Delhi ↔ Chandigarh (feeder)

Additional corridors may be added during the pilot with reasonable notice.

What happens on an unapproved corridor

If you accept a parcel on a corridor not in your approved list, the trip will be flagged in the system, the booking will be reassigned, and your account may be suspended. If you are approached for a corridor you are not assigned to, decline and notify ops immediately with the order ID.

The custody chain is the core of every Patwadi shipment. Every handoff must be recorded in the app — no exceptions, no shortcuts.

The 4-step chain
StepEventWho confirms
1Customer → LMP (collection)Pickup LMP
2LMP → Linehaul Conductor (boarding)Pickup LMP at handoff
3Linehaul Conductor → LMP (arrival)Delivery LMP at arrival
4LMP → Customer (delivery)Delivery LMP

Each step requires: a verification code entered in the app + a clear photo of the parcel at the point of transfer. A handoff is not complete until both are confirmed in the system.

Your duties while in custody
  • Keep the parcel secure. Never leave it unattended in an open or unsecured place.
  • Verify the code. Hand over only to someone who provides the correct verification code for that step.
  • The physical parcel must be present. Never complete a handoff without the parcel.
  • No photo reuse or falsification. Using an old photo or fabricating a record is immediate termination.
  • Note packaging condition. If you accept a fragile item with damaged packaging, record the condition in the app. Accepting without noting it makes you liable.
Refusing a pickup or handoff

You must refuse a parcel if: it appears to contain a prohibited item; the code does not match; the packaging is severely compromised and the parcel cannot safely transit; or you have reason to believe it contains hazardous material.

In all refusal cases: do not leave the location without reporting to ops via WhatsApp with the order ID. Do not simply walk away from a refused pickup — that is a booking failure, not a refusal, and creates a custody gap.

Failed delivery — hold and return

If the recipient is unavailable: make a second delivery attempt within 24 hours. After two failed attempts, hold the parcel for up to 7 days. Keep it in a safe, dry, secure location. If the recipient does not collect within 7 days, coordinate return with ops. Storage and return compensation are payable per your rate schedule.

You must not accept parcels containing prohibited items. If you identify or reasonably suspect a prohibited item, refuse custody and notify ops immediately. Accepting a known prohibited item is a material breach of your agreement.

Refuse and report immediately If you suspect a prohibited item — WhatsApp ops at +91 80918 89969 with the order ID before leaving the location.

  • Cash, currency, or negotiable instruments
  • Jewellery, precious metals, or gemstones

What happens if you accept a prohibited item

Accepting a known prohibited item is a material breach of your operator agreement. It may result in: immediate suspension, forfeiture of outstanding settlement, and potential liability for any harm caused. Patwadi will cooperate with law enforcement if the parcel contains illegal material.

You are paid per completed delivery leg on a weekly settlement cycle.

Settlement dayEvery Monday, for legs completed Mon–Sun of the prior week
Payment methodUPI ID or bank account on your KYC record — keep these accurate
Earnings reserveNone during pilot phase
Deduction noticeCommunicated in writing within 24 hours of settlement date
What counts as a completed leg

A leg is settled when: the full custody chain for that leg has been verified in the app (code + photo at both ends), the delivery is confirmed, and no dispute has been raised against the booking. Legs under active dispute are held until the dispute is resolved.

Rates and rate schedule

Your rate schedule is communicated separately at onboarding and updated when rates change. Rates cover: pickup fee (per collection, LMP origin); delivery fee (per successful delivery, LMP destination); linehaul rate (per corridor leg, linehaul conductors); storage compensation (per day during approved hold); return trip compensation (per return-to-sender leg).

Rate changes are communicated at least 7 days before they take effect. Continuing to accept bookings after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new rates.

When Patwadi may withhold or deduct

Deductions may apply when: a parcel was lost or damaged in your custody and custody evidence does not establish third-party liability; a handoff record was incomplete or fraudulent; you accepted a prohibited item; or you collected cash from a customer outside the Patwadi payment system.

Deductions are capped at two settlement periods. You have 48 hours to dispute any proposed deduction after notification.

When something goes wrong, contact ops immediately. Do not negotiate with customers. Do not make promises about refunds or compensation. All of that is handled by Patwadi.

The full agreement is at patwadi.com/operator-agreement.html. This packet does not replace the agreement — it is the operational companion to it.
